Is it normal for mechanical watches to have their Crown Never Stop when winding them? aka free spinning?

I’m used to wearing mechanical watches where when winding them, the crown eventually comes to a complete halt when the watch it winded all the way.

Now i have Swiss Army watch and the crown simply moves effortlessly when winding (forward) and doesn’t seem to come to a halt. Is that normal for watches these days???

That’s interesting, I have a cartia watch and only when I wear it, it starts to work, but i have to wind it first and if i keep it on for a week or what ever amout of time, it still working.
